It is modern and technologically advanced, all while preserving its rich history. The property dates back to 1850, and we made it a priority to retain as much of its original character as possible. During the renovation, we uncovered unique details and architectural features that made it even more captivating», she shares.

What inspired you to purchase and restore this ancient mansion in the Tuscan hills?
«We discovered this property almost by chance, during a running trip immersed in the Tuscan countryside. It immediately caught our attention: it was an unusual, imposing, and truly fascinating structure. That’s when we learned it was an old vat room, a wine and olive oil production facility with over a century of history. This made it even more valuable in our eyes. Its uniqueness, however, was the perfect combination of lush green surroundings and its proximity to the city center, which was also within walking distance. That’s how the idea was born: to transform it into our ideal home through a careful renovation project.»
What fascinated you the most?
«We were truly captivated by the property’s original architecture. Each floor was designed as a large open space, each with its unique features. The basement was embellished with exposed brick walls and historic arches. The ground floor was distinguished by magnificent stone columns and vaulted ceilings. On the upper floor, we discovered beautiful white wooden beams that created a completely different atmosphere. From the outside, the villa blends harmoniously with the Tuscan landscape, and inside it reveals a distinctive and unique identity.»
Could you tell us what was your main creative vision in transforming a historic structure into such a sophisticated modern villa?
«Our inspiration was to preserve its uniqueness without altering its soul. We wanted to respect its history and distinctive features while creating modern, comfortable, and technologically advanced spaces. It was a challenge to combine the contemporary design lines with the authentic beauty of the past. I think we succeeded in finding a harmonious balance between these two worlds.»

You decided to renovate the historic villa to give it a more modern feel.
«We preserved the basement almost entirely in its original state. On the ground floor, we chose to keep the open space layout to fully showcase the original stone columns. Upstairs, we created the sleeping area, carefully respecting the existing spaces and window openings. We even kept what is now a separate guest apartment, maintaining access through the original door and staircase.»
Was the division into two independent living units part of a hospitality or investment strategy?
«The property was originally divided into multiple units, and we thought it would be interesting to preserve this layout. The ability to manage independent spaces makes the villa extremely versatile: it can be enjoyed as an exclusive private residence, but it also offers excellent opportunities for hospitality or as an investment.»

The spaces are generous, and the renovation allowed us to carefully curate every detail, ensuring optimal comfort that can be fully enjoyed in everyday life.»

The area is conveniently served by three international airports: Florence, Pisa, and Bologna. In addition, while surrounded by greenery, it is not completely isolated. The houses in the surroundings increase safety, and this was one of the criteria in choosing this home.»

«The renovation followed very high standards, carefully selecting designer products from the best brands available, both in terms of materials and practicality.
